Pope dead?

Searching for confirmation of the popes death, which we heard about on an office radio, and via [livejournal.com profile] planetconcrete's LJ entry.

Reuters.com is reporting that there is conflicting Italia Media reports on the Pope's health

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Italian media gave contradictory reports about Pope John Paul's vital signs on Friday, first saying his heart and brain activity had stopped and then reporting this was not true.

There was no official comment from the Vatican.

The first reports, picked up by the state broadcaster RAI, said his electrocardiogram had gone flat. The ADNkronos news agency said monitoring showed his brain activity had halted.

But Sky Italia television later quoted Vatican sources saying both his brain and heart were still functioning.

All the other news sites I've visited are only reporting worsening health.

Celebrities die in packs of three?

I'm sure that plenty of people have commented on this in the past... but have you ever noticed that celebrities seem to die in groups of three?

Johnny Cochran (March 29)
Mitch Hedberg (March 30)
Terri Schiavo (March 31)

But! Does Terri Schiavo count as a celebrity? I'd say no. For that matter... are Johnny Cochran and Mitch Hedberg really celebrities? I guess more so than Terri Schiavo.

If they all count, AND if the Pope dies today, April 1st, that will be the fourth celebrity death in as many days and ruins the group of three observation.

Now you can keep track of all the celebrity deaths via the DeadCelebrityAlert Yahoo Group.
