The first one's free, kid!

Now I've gone and done it! I've installed World of Warcraft on the new Mac.

So, what server should I be playing on?

Yeah, the patch process was irritating. It stays bad, since they patch pretty much weekly on Tuesday, and they use BitTorrent to download the patches, so sometimes it can take a couple of hours for the patch to be installed even if it's tiny (about 2 hours for a 2.63 MB patch last night. I played CoH while I waited ;). It's ridiculous.

The game is quite fun, mind you, but their tech could use some overhaul.

Yeah, Proudmore and the Stonewall Champions is the place you want to be (assuming you don't mind the occasional off-color discussion in chat *grin*). One caveat is that the server is one of the busier ones, so there can sometimes be a queue to log in at prime times. However, that seems to be getting better as they've been encouraging people to transfer off to lower-population servers.

I normally have better experiences with the updates -- the occasional big patches (sometimes 150MB or more) do take a while, but the occasional small ones usually only take 15 minutes or so.
