I've heard that the Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1-inch display shares the same LCD panel as the Apple 20-inch Cinema display, though they use different back light. They are rated nearly identical, though the Dell price is currently $561.75 and the Apple price is $799.00 (manufacture web site prices).

The Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24-inch display is also very nice ($1,019.15), compared to the Apple 23-inch Cinema HD ($1,499).

I was researching this for work, but I'm thinking about getting one for home also.
