Busted budget and playing a Villain
Nov. 2nd, 2005 10:36 amI'm really liking the MY LJ portal. Very handy during the day.
As far as "stuff" goes, this past couple of weeks has been a deluge of new stuff, and as a result I'm feeling poor right now. I've been really good at staying out of debt this year, but right now I have a little bit that wasn't covered by this last paycheck. Between Joe's birthday gifts (3 gym training sessions, and a iPod w/video), my own new iPod w/video, my new camera and lenses, and buying City of Villains (CoV, sequel game to City of Heroes, CoH), I'm pretty maxed out on my allowable spending (personal limit, not credit limit). Hopefully I won't have any other big expenses this next month so I can cover the left over debt.
Of course, I'm been playing City of Villains almost constantly when home since the game went live on Friday night (it's a on-line massive world game). Before CoV came out, I had been taking a break from on-line gaming for a while. I reached the highest level in CoH months ago, and I got bored with my second character. I tried participating in the CoV Beta testing for the past couple of months, but there were so many issues that I found it completely unplayable, so I just decided to wait until the final game was released.
I'm having a blast with CoV. The play is nearly identical to CoH, but I've somehow managed to rediscover my excitement for playing a super powered character. I've also enjoyed playing with my super group (a group of player who gather together in one on-line organization). I played with these same guys on CoH under the group named Rough Trade. The CoV name is "The Agenda". Yeah, it's the gay agenda.
My main character is "Morass," a bitter zombie who fights against Paragon City's necrophobic laws. My alternate character is "Unspeakable Vice," a strong silent brute who's as happy busting heads as spanking behinds. (Remember, they are villains!)
