Invisalign progress
Dec. 28th, 2006 12:01 pmI just got back from the orthodontist where she showed me the virtual simulation of what my teeth will look like during and after Invisalign. It's pretty interesting. Invisalign builds a computer model of my teeth and then shows a step by step progression of how my teeth will be realigned over the next 36 weeks. I will have to wear 18 aligners on top, and 15 on the bottom, two weeks at a time.
Originally we were thinking it would take a possible one to two years to complete, but nine months sounds much better. It also means that the cost will only be about $4000. My insurance plays $1500 of that, leaving me with a nice $2500 bill. I need to pay half of that up front, and then I can pay the rest over a 6 month period. Now I just need to come up with $1250. This of course is better than later, when my insurance will cover nothing. I'd prefer to pay $2500 rather than $4000.
For some reason I keep thinking of this as body modification.
