We're sitting here the Deja Vu Restaurant and Bar having a Po Boy dinner. I think the jukebox has been stacked with ELO (thus the I'm Alive Xanadu reference) and ABBA. It makes me happy.
The Backus parade was this afternoon. Man! It's grown! It took almost and hours and a half to get by us, and the sidewalks were PACKED! I got a lot of cute pictures, but the bead catching were a little lacking. Most of the throws went to the families around me. Damn kids!
After Barkus was hoofed it over to canal to catch the last parade of the day. Actually its the last parade until Wednesday. We caught a lot of beads there, so that made up for Barkus.
On the way back from Canal, one of our local friends, Troy with his boyfriend Mke, called us. Troy has been the bounced at the Corner Pocket for 5 years, on top of running a NAPA auto shop (not sure if he owns it, or just manages it). We met up with them in the Quarter (they live further out) and just walked around for a while, and then stopping t have some beignets at Café Dumond. It would have been nice to have dinner with them, but they already had dinner scheduled with Troy's sister and her girlfriend.
After they departed we went back to the room and I napped for a bit while Joe sorted beads and figured out a way to pack them. Then we headed over to Oz at 7:30 for the strip contest. There was one guy there who was very beautiful to me. Stocky, muscular, bald, short chin beard, and fuzzy chest and torso. I made sure to tip him.
And now were waiting for our Po Boys to arrive.
