Dad has had a heart attack. Heading to the hospital now. Please keep him in your prayers.

Sitting here with Dad now. He's doing prety good. He just said that now he knows one can have a heart attack and not feel bad. (I think it might be a little early for that...)

They put a stent into his heart right a

Oops, accidently hit send before finishing the last entry. Yes, they put the stent in right away.

They are in the process of moving him to his room now. He's in pretty good spirits.

While we were with him earlier, a woman came in (not a doctor, maybe a nurse?). She was chatting with him while doing paperwork and checking various settings.

While there, the little device hanging from her neck uttered "(so and so) wants to talk to you. Is that ok?" She said yes, the started a brief coversation through the device.

After she was done, I commented that it was very Star Trek. She held up the device, pressed the activation button, and said "Beam me up, Scotty." Then the device made a whirling "transporter" noise. Very cute.

Dad's generally doing good now. I'm sitting with Mom in the vistors lounge while she calls Dad's brother, Rich. (We can't use cell phones in the patient rooms.) They have an internet enabled PC here in the lounge, so I can more easily type rather than thumb typing on my phone.

Dad will be here for the weekend. He had one artery that was 100% blocked. They removed the blockage and put in the stent. A second artery is 80% blocked, so they will put a second stent in on Monday. They don't want to do both on the same day.

I updated my sister, Dana, earlier. She was practically ready to hop on a plane, but it looks like everything is ok. (She's pregnant... so we're not encouraging flying anyways.)

I think we're going to be here a while longer, then take Mom home (she rode in the ambulence). We're going to bring Dad his laptop tomorrow. I think they have WIFI here so people can send him letters. He also needs to cancel a few client appointments for the next week.
