drewan: (House)
Well, we are seriously thinking of moving. We found a house about two miles away, still in Richfield, that we really like. It's almost twice the size of our current house, 2 floors, 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, fully finished basement with (get this!) a full built in home theater. In 1999 the house was remodeled from a 1.5 story house, including a new three car garage (the home theater is under the new garage). The back yard it nice, with a low deck, with entrances to the kitchen and master bedroom.

We're pretty excited about the house, but we haven't placed an offer yet. We need to talk with a finance person first. I left a message with the realtor's recommended person today. Hopefully we can get the financing figured out pretty quickly this week and put an offer on the house.

Of course we will need to sell our current place. We are thinking that it will be much easier to buy the new place first, move out of here and fix this place up, then sell the old house. I think it could be turned around pretty quickly. Of course, the realtor had a recommended guy for this also.

One thing that would really make the new house easier is to find a renter. Eric is thinking its time for him to move on, though we would probably be happy to have him move with us as a renter.

Anyone know of a good way to find good roommate / renters in the Twin Cities? We've had so many renters in the past, but they were all friends. Sadly, they didn't always have the ability to pay, and that's been okay because we didn't need the money. With the new house... we'll need the money.

We need to find a person or two (two renters would REALLY help!) who are low maintenance, low drama. We're fairly low maintenance/drama ourselves, but we have our quirks, which Eric can attest to. We have some personal space sensitivities, not with our roommates, but with their guests. Are our sensitivities always reasonable, no. Obviously, a renter would have a little more guest rights, but who ever he is would need to be sensitive to us.
