Firewall

Ok, there appears the be a little confusion about my firewall status.

I still have my router's firewall turned on. I just didn't need to have both the hardware firewall and the software firewall running at the same time, because they can cause conflicts.

Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro... I want!

Apple has finally come out with the Core 2 Duo version of the MacBook Pro. I've been planning to buy a MacBook Pro for a while now, but I've been waiting for the Core 2 Duo version.

Of course, I just dropped a few hundred dollers on the Slingbox Pro this weekend. What timing.

I can get the education discount, thanks to the class I take each year at the Minnesota School of Business, which saves me $200.

Ok... any family or friends want to chip in on a very early Christmas/Birthday (Jan 17th) gift?

Here at work we finally decided on our department team costume theme. We're going to come as hippy/flower children. Now I need to go find the costume elements. I'm probably going to use the same costume for a party this weekend. Wonder if I can talk rvrjoe775 into it also.

I think I could pretty easily dress as a former soldier style hippy... with old camo jacked and untied military boots. Mix that with ripped jeans, tie-dye shirt, long blond wig, dog tags and peace symbol. I already got a bit of a messy beard going right now. I'll just leave it unkept until after Halloween.

Alternatively, drop the camo and wear a brown fringe vest.

As I'm thinking about this, I'm feeling a bit wierd beause several of my older friends still are hippies... or what hippies became past the 70's.

Anyone have any other hippy clothing ideas?
