A big happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] buttonfish! I can't believe you are a whole year old now.

You are (come on every body...) SO BIG!

Edit: Apparently I misspelled So Big. It should be Sooo(repeat as long as needed) Big!

We're off to see Avenue Q tonight. I'm very excited about this. I've been wanting to see Avenue Q for a few years now. I had an opportunity the last time we were in New York City, but we saw Wicked (which still starred Indina Menzel as Elphaba) and Bombay Dreams instead. Of course, I've listened the cast album a million times, so it will be interesting to hear the difference between the album and the live performance, and hopefully fill in the missing story elements.

Edit: I should add that we're going with [livejournal.com profile] musicbearmn's group. A big thanks to Dan for arranging this!

You Are 58% Stereotypically Gay

You somewhat fit the gay stereotype, but not totally. If you aren't actually gay, there are at least a few people who assume you are. If you are gay, it's not much of a secret. Your mannerisms and phrases make it obvious.

How Stereotypically Gay Are You?
Make a Quiz

This quiz really only seems to decide if you are a Bravo (as in the cable channel) gay.

I think the first questions should be are you male. Then the second question should be "have you ever sucked a penis." That would be a better determination of your male homosexuality. (Sorry ladies... I don't know what you do to each other, and I don't need to know.)

And the "anything rainbow" question... There is so many crappy Christian tchotchkes of rainbows. When I was a young gay, going through my "HELLO WORLD, I'M GAY" phase, I don't know how many times I had women come up to me and ask where they could get a pin like that. These were not lipstick lesbians, they were just clueless.

(Ok... it could be argued that I might still be in the Hello World, I'm Gay phase, but I've dialed it down several notches. A nice rainbow back window decal (next to my leather pride and my white Apple decals), and generally living life as an out gay man, do not really scream gay in the same way.)

We're in the intermission now. The first act was very enjoyable, and I was right... There is a lot of story that's missed on the album.

Oh! The biggest good surprise was the Bad Advice Bears. Two little bear puppets who appear and sweet talk our characters into bad ideas, like spending your parents money on a case of beer, or drinking long island teas when you really should go to bed because you have a big job in the mourning. They are so cute and hard to resist!

Ok... Act two is starting.
