Interesting... Apples upcoming OSX update Tiger comes on an install DVD. If you want install CD's, you will need to mail the DVD to Apple who will then mail you CD's, at an additional cost of $9.95.
I haven't encountered much software coming out on DVD discs yet.
At my company, we seriously thought about releasing the software I produce on DVD, since it now takes multiple CD's to install it. But so many of our customers are stuck using old machines, so we didn't feel assured that the DVD would be usable by to many of them.
