Bad joke heard on the radio this morning

A Norwegian calls the hospital to tell them that his wife is in labor.

Hospital: Is this her first child?
Man: No, I'm her husband, stupid!


(And don't ask me why it's a Norwegian. That's the way it was told on the radio. Norwegian humor is fairly common in Minnesota, usually told by Norwegians.)

I believe, at least according to the Swedes, that Norwegians are perceived to be dull (no fun). It isn't so far a jump from "no fun" to logically parsing a sentence and taking it more literally than it was intended -- which is kind of what's happening in the joke.
