When I go to the gym, I typically weigh in after working out, and then again after sitting in the hot tub, sauna and showering. I notice a few tenths of a pound difference typically, but today it was over a pound difference. What's the deal with that?

Clarification: The second weight was a pound less, not more.

Normal variation due to water weight?

It was probably just a scale error.

Typically, it's a lot better to do weigh-ins once a week or so. A day by day interval is just going to fluctuate up and down.

Scale error? Most gym scales are notorious for being abused into incoherance.
