This word escaped my lips loudly when tonight's results were announced. Thank goodness Joe's folks had gone to bed. They probably didn't hear me.

I haven't been that shocked since Tamyra Gray was kicked off in the first season. Holy Shit. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor.

He was my favorite to win and his elimination made no sense in terms of his performance or his consistency. But that's what we get when the contestants are judged solely by popular vote. I had thought that Taylor and Kat would be the bottom two and that Taylor would go. Now it's really a toss up. Taylor has charisma and performance experience, but does not have great vocal quality. Elliot has an amazing voice, but not a commanding personality. Kat has a terrific voice, but is not nearly as a adaptable to different genres, however she is a pretty girl. That may the sole factor in choosing the winner at this point. So that's my prediction, the pretty girl wins (even though I think Elliot is a better singer).

I'm picturing the scene in A Christmas Story where we see Ralphie say the F word in slow-motion, as it dawns on him even as he says it that he is in Big Trouble, and he desperately tries to stop himself.
