Easy transfer

Wow... the Mac transfer utility is WONDERFUL! It took two hours to transfer all my files and applications, but when the new machine finally launched it was like I was back on my old machine... just faster! All my applications work, and my other settings are all there too. When I opened Firefox to go to LJ, I was already logged in!

Yup that's one of the wonders of having a Unix-esque means of storing your configuration files and such. When I lost my hard drive - I rebuilt my machine onto the new drive, logged in as admin and copied over my data from my backup drive. When I logged back in - it was like nothing had happened. Yes, even logged into LJ and everything [although I use Safari - lol]
