No rush for flying cars

C|Net News has a blurb about some guys who are making a flying car prototype.

You know... the reason we don't have flying cars by now is because no one has discovered anti-gravity! All those flying cars we've seen in Science Fiction didn't follow the laws of aerodynamics, they simply go where they want to.

So, hurry up and get anti-gravity going! I really don't want a flying car if it's really a small airplane. Enough people die in car crashes and airplane crashes as it is... we don't need to combine those. But if we have the magic of anti-gravity, then they can probably build in some safety systems to keep crashes from happening.

All that's needed for antigravity is the discovery of the still theoretical graviton and then a way to annihilate it...

Some years ago, I don't remember how many, they had cars which you just attached wings to and flew them. I think Popular Mechanics had a story on them.
