There are cultural appropriation issues with mohawks being worn by white US guys. I am not saying you should or should not do something, but just be aware there is some controversy involving actual First Nations people about what this hairstyle means.
The mohawk is a perfectly acceptable counter culture (did I just say those last four words in the same sentence???) hairstyle that resembles a Native American hairstyle.
I've let my hair grow out (it's all of 1/8th of an inch...), and I'm enjoying it 'cuz it keeps my head cooler, what with the hair hanging on to the scalp sweat and all, but being short enough for air circulation.
If I'm keeping it, though, I'd better start colouring it again...

Date: 2007-07-13 03:19 am (UTC)I do like the thought of mowhawk instead of mohawk.
But from the Urban Dictionary:
mowhawk
The strip of grass between the road and sidewalk seen in some cities. aids in dog feces camoflagery.
"Gee, I'd rather have a wider sidewalk than a mowhawk."
