Birthday notes...

When I was growing up I didn't know anybody who shared a birthday with me, or was even within a couple weeks of me. Now it seems I can't cat a dead swing without hitting a fellow January birthday boy.
My good friend Angel's birthday was yesterday, and we celebrated it with him with a nice dinner at Monte Carlo (great food, ditzy waitress).
Today is
minnehaha B's birthday, which we celebrated on Saturday with a very tasty dinner and great company at Surabhi (though I'm a slight bit jealous of the Sunday party, it looked wonderful). B also shares his birthday with the great late Martin Luther King, Jr. What would Dr. King have to say about America today.
Tomorrow is
boobooboy's birthday, which sadly I won't be able to celebrate with him (being that he lives in another state).
Thursday is my birthday, which I'll celebrate while flying to DC for MAL (which isn't really my celebration, it just timed out that way. I'd rather celebrate my birthday with my husband). I also share my birthday with that face on the $100 bills, Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding thinkers of our nation. He has always been on the short list for historical figures that I would like to have dinner with.
I also have a few other off-line friends and acquaintances with January birthday, including one acquaintance who shares my day, though he' a year older.
I'm turning a whopping 35 on Thursday. I was just looking back at my postings from when I turned 30... I guess I'm now living outside the domed city somewhere, having escaped the Sandmen and Carousel.
I do miss organizing a big group dinner for my birthday. With last weekend taken up by
minnehaha's festivities, and next weekend being in DC, I don't think I'm going to get a local friends birthday dinner this year. Joe is thinking of spending some time in New Orleans the weekend after, and I think the
minnehahas are heading to Australia at the same time. Maybe I'll organize a belated birthday dinner in February.
So happy birthday to all my fellow January birthday kids. Here's to starting off the year with a celebration of our births.
Edited to add Martin Luther King Jr. and Benjamin Franklin.
