I'm working on a project to replace our giant Leather Pride flag that we march with each year in the Twin Cities Pride Parade.

Does anyone happen to know of the correct pantone colors for the blue and the red in the flag? I need this to try and decide on the correct fabric color.

Well, according to http://www.bearmfg.com/history/history.html (you'll have to scroll down a bit), the flag is copyrighted/trademarked by Desmodus Inc.ยน, so that might perhaps be a lead to getting the exact shade of Royal Blue that the flag is "supposed" to have.

[1] Tony DeBlase's company. At the time he designed the flag, Desmodus was publisher of Drummer.

Larry is right, it's warn and abused. Both the rainbow and leather pride flags that you see in the parade were not made to last 10 years. In fact, they were only made to last one year. It's amazing that we've gotten this much use out of them.

We've found a new manufacture and we're working out a co-ownership deal between Twin Cities Pride and MN Leather Pride.

Now, I'd love to see other local groups make their own flags. Can you imaging a whole string of giant pride flags... rainbow, leather, bisexual, transgender, bears, whoever...

gotcha.

Well, keep me updated. I've volunteer to do pro bono PR work with TC Pride, so that could be an interesting tidbit to include.

I wasn't aware their was any Pantone standards for the leather or gay pride flag.

I have PMS drawings of both we used for banners for local groups if you need me to lift the codes.

BTW Desdemodus is out of business, I doubt they assigned their rights.

Well, my understanding is that they were offering it for free to not for profit projects and groups anyways.
