Ugh... I was hoping to have the Nitrogen Ice Cream demonstration video to post this morning, but at some point after leaving last night my work Mac crashed. When I arrived this morning the big Mac error screen was up on the monitor and the fan was whirring like crazy. I think it was preparing for take off.

So now the Nitrogen Ice Cream demonstration video is back to encoding. Hopefully I can post it this afternoon.

OMG I'm having flashbacks to the first Conjecture. We had someone do a nitrogen ice cream demo at our Mad Science Fair, but they used a pressure cooker to speed up the process. It's amazing to see what happens when a pressure cooker valve actually does what it's supposed to - give way. Of course having it followed by a pot full of ice cream all over the hotel ceiling, walls, floor and guests is another matter entirely. :)

Pressure cooker? Why?

In the AppleCon demonstration, Chaz and Bonnie just mixed the ingredient, pored on the nitrogen to free everything, and stirred. No pressure cooker. It was yummy, with out the mess.

They were trying to speed up the process. As Events head, I heard the boom from across the hall (holding my G'con room party, if I remember correctly), saw what had happened, and told the Hotel Liaison, "No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow." :)
