While the movie might have been heavy on the cliche's it occurred to me I don't think I've ever watched a film with a lesbian couple as the main focus. And I don't think aside from the affair with a man that their bullshit was unlike that of any couple that has been together a long time. It stuck me after that I know more gay guys then lesbians so at first it really stood out to me to be watching two women in family life on a screen but by the end I wasn't focused on that. And in the end I think they demonstrated they were a pretty stable family who was likely to survive the bullshit.
