Okay, so now the "aliens" have brought their WHOLE FREAKING PLANET through the portal, why do they need room on Earth if they have their own planet?. Their problem wasn't their planet, it was their sun. Couldn't they just stay on their planet.
Of course, having another Earth sized planet in our system so close to Earth would course horrible tidal and orbit issue with the whole system. If they would have gotten a second season (the show wasn't picked up for next year) I'm sure the drama would have revolved to launching Bruce Willis in a rocket to blow up the other planet before it crashes into the Earth.
And what's with the President's wife muttering "home" when she saw the planet? How did they manage to go all season without someone on Sofia's side mentioning that the First Lady was one of them?
The whole series was pretty weak. It wasn't created to be a science fiction show. The alien plot line was an after thought that the network told the creators to add. However, when they finally got to the real science fiction elements, I started to really like the show. I'd love to have a series about what happens when a whole world of aliens suddenly appears in our solar system. Not necessarily an invasion, but how we deal with new planetary neighbors.

Date: 2011-05-25 07:35 pm (UTC)I am (or was) interested in the whole "we were here first" sub-plot, and the actual Event that will evolve the aliens.
But they all got run over by a truck. The end.

Date: 2011-05-26 03:31 pm (UTC)I'd been debating whether to watch the second half of the season. I got a new DVR while it was on hiatus, so I missed the first few episodes when it came back, and the rest have been piling up because I haven't been excited enough to watch them via Hulu.
Maybe I'll just see if Television Without Pity has recaps and leave it at that.
There were things I liked about it, but there was an awful lot of Teh Stupid, too.
